Artist Talk "Sam Marroquin: Dwell" at the Pendleton Center for the Arts

    May 5, 2023 ·

Please enjoy the artist talk "Sam Marroquin: Dwell" at the Pendleton Center for the Arts in Pendleton, Oregon, in the East Oregonian Gallery. In this video, she discusses her Dwelling Series and the inspiration for her art.

Marroquin investigates and exposes the truth in current and historic events, examines the transmission and dissemination of information, and the ways in which we are distracted from important issues.

The work in this exhibit dwells on the monumental and mundane aspects of events that affect many people in their everyday lives. She hopes that her art will start a conversation about these important topics that are often avoided.

The show was organized by the exhibit committee and staff, including Journey Hahn and Roberta Lavadour. Work by Mary Corp is also on view in the Lorenzen Gallery.

The talk was given May 4, 2023. The exhibit is on view May 4 - 27, 2023.
